Purpose: The purpose of the grant is to enrich NCC faculty skills as teachers, educators, and deliverers of knowledge to NCC students in their subject area or to enhance union leadership abilities by attending professional or union conferences /seminars / workshops.
Eligibility
1. The candidate shall be a member of AFA in good standing for the
last 2 years.
2.
The
candidate shall have been teaching for the last 2 years.
3.
The
same candidate shall not be eligible for another award within 2 years.
4. Such proposed event shall be only in his/her subject area and shall be related to teaching and/or
research and/or union related matters
Total Allocated Amount:
Maximum of $5000 per year for all grants.
Grant Award:
No
more than $500 per grant.
Proposal/ Request: The proposal or request shall be made on grant application by the candidate and must include name, department, years of teaching at NCC, type of conference/seminar/workshop, date and place of such event, and shall be sent to the Chair of the GPC (Grant Program Committee).
Award Procedure: The candidate shall be reimbursed the awarded amount only upon producing proof of attendance and submitting an acceptable written report for publication in Vanguard. The Executive Board and the Editor of Vanguard will determine whether the report is acceptable and publishable.
