         As the reader might guess from the accompanying cartoon by Mark Lipset, department representative for the Biology Department, this issue of the VANGUARD is devoted to the proposals of the Gen. Ed. Committee.

        AFA President Charles Loiacono asked, ?Are We Dumbing-Down?? Mark Kraus of the Physical Sciences Department weighs in on the impact of reducing the science requirement. Frank Nappi of the Math Department gives his opinion on cutting the math requirement, and AFA Vice-President Bob Gaudino takes a global view.
