It was with mixed feelings that we followed the tallies of votes on Election Day.

Joel Asarch, whom the AFA had endorsed, received the highest count in a field of four for the two seats on the Supreme Court. Joel ran on the Democratic ticket.

Merik Aaron, also endorsed by the AFA, was one percentage point shy in a field of six vying for three seats on the Family Court. Rick ran on the Republican line.

“Rick had waited a long time to run for a full term,” said AFA President Charles Loiacono. “He was serving out the term on a vacancy to which he was appointed, and we knew it would be an uphill race. He came close, but wait till next time.”
