The AFA Executive Board has voted unanimously to honor Craig Johnson as the Man of the Year.

Johnson will be presented with the award at the AFA Spring Conference to be held at the Chateau Briand in Westbury on Saturday May 12th. The cocktail hour will begin at 11:30 A.M.

The Johnson name is very familiar to the Adjunct Faculty Association. From the sponsoring of the biggest AFA scholarship to his recent election as state senator, Craig has been an intricate part of the AFA story.

From the very beginning of his tenure as a Nassau County legislator Craig was a supporter of adjunct rights. He was one of the most vocal advocates of what was right and what was wrong with the college, and he never failed to discuss the issues with the AFA before taking a stand.

When Craig was chosen as a candidate for the state senate seat vacated by Senator Balboni, there was no need for him to ask for our support. The executive board voted unanimously to endorse the Johnson candidacy. The rest is history.
