Excellence in Education Increase

 

          Section 6.8 of the current AFA Collective Bargaining Agreement provides for the “Excellence in Education Increase.”

          This section provides teaching and non-teaching faculty with an additional increase in salary in the last three years of the contract. The name is a euphemism for “longevity increase.” This is academe where roses have other names.

          Teaching faculty with at least 20 years of service will have $30 added to each contact hour they teach beginning in September 2007. In September of 2008, $30 will again be added to each contact hour. In September of 2009, $40 will be added to each contact hour.

          Non-teaching faculty will receive an increase of 1.89% in 2007, 1.89% in 2008, and 2.33% in 2009.
