The Professional Excellence Committee has Chosen Barbara Ann Vitale to be the recipient of the coveted Professional Excellence Award.

Barbara’s accomplishments cover a dozen pages, single spaced. It starts with her graduation from Nassau Community College in 1964, and goes on to BSN in Nursing from Long Island University in 1966 to a Master’s from NYU in 1968.

She was in the first graduating class of nursing students to graduate from NCC.

Barbara began her teaching career as an adjunct in 1969 and worked for 23 semesters when she moved into a full-time position. She continued to work as a member of the adjunct faculty. She is now the most senior adjunct professor in the Nursing Department. She has authored and co-authored six textbooks and has contributed to countless other publications.

Space is too short to touch on her other credits.
