         Hidden in the court papers supporting the administration’s petition to stay the LINCC arbitration was an evaluation report submitted to the administration by a committee of four full-time professors. The committee was charged with evaluating the ELI program and making recommendations for improvement. The report was titled a “Fresh Look.”

            The report is such an indictment of the program that the program’s survival challenges belief. We now know that the administration was aware that the program was a failure, but continued to promote it because it was a money maker. We now know that they duped the Board of Trustees into believing that the program was working and that it was essential to comply with a federal “mandate.” We now know that they rehired the same instructors that the committee found incompetent.

We now know that no one knew if these individuals possessed qualifications.

            The report is so damning that we are devoting this entire issue to the report so that the truth truly sees the light of day. Because the back page continues the treatment of the report, we are placing the Professional Excellence Notice here:
