            As previously explained in the July/August issue of the VANGUARD, we in the AFA have no idea how the government’s investigation of the ELI/LINCC debacle will be conducted or what it will turn up. Our role was to apprise government officials of what our investigation discovered.

            We were informed that once the full investigative report was filed, it would be out of our hands—and so it is.

            The only fact that we can report is that a case number has been assigned. As soon as we know more about the government’s investigation, we will share that information with the reader.

AFA Elections

            The biennial election of officers and department representatives will be conducted this coming November.

            The inside of this month’s issue contains copies of the nomination petition and the official election notice, together with the election procedures.

            Elections Committee Chair Mahadev Kumbar has asked that we remind everyone that only department representatives are eligible to run for the Executive Board.

            Therefore, anyone interested in running for the Executive Board must first run and win the election for department representative
